Netformx® to Optimize the Designing and Selling of Enterprise Networking Solutions with HP

Netformx DesignXpert® Now Includes HP Networking Product Catalog, Making it Easier than Ever to Configure HP Enterprise Network Offerings

SAN JOSE, CA—March 16, 2011—Netformx, the requirements-to-order solution leader, today announced it is working with HP to accelerate the ability of sales and sales engineers to transform enterprise customer requirements into deployable solutions.

Netformx DesignXpert Platinum Edition users have access to the HP Networking product catalog, pricing and ordering information from the Netformx KnowledgeBase. HP’s enterprise networking offerings, including switches, wireless communications and network management solutions, can now be easily and precisely incorporated into enterprise information and communication technology designs.

Key Facts

  • Netformx DesignXpert can automatically create error-free designs by validating configurations and enforcing business rules. The integrated desktop platform also enables sales organizations to quickly quote and propose enterprise networking solutions.
  • The Platinum Edition is the most comprehensive version of Netformx DesignXpert. It provides access to the full Netformx KnowledgeBase, the largest multi-vendor database for networking equipment with specifications, validation rules, pricing, ordering information and discovery mappings for more than 338,000 products and over two million design rules from top manufacturers of network products.
  • The first phase of implementing HP networking product content within the Netformx KnowledgeBase will be completed this month; it will include information from the HP E-Series networking solutions designed for the mid-market and enterprise edge and HP V-Series networking solutions designed for small businesses.
  • The second implementation phase is scheduled for later in 2011 and will include information from the HP A-Series networking solutions designed for large enterprise customers and HP S-Series security solutions.

Supporting Quotes

  •  “On average, 30 to 40 percent of enterprise networking solutions cannot be deployed as sold due to design errors. This is why a knowledge base that guides the requirements-to-order process and helps to enforce configuration rules and validate designs is critical,” said Steve Bamberger, COO, Netformx. “We are pleased to work with HP and make its product content available so that our customers can accelerate the design process, close deals more quickly, and fulfill enterprises’Information and Communications technology ICT requirements.”
  • “Customers and resellers are seeking simplified networking architecture through a single-pane-of-glass management,” said Mike Banic, vice president, marketing, Networking, HP. “By adding the HP networking catalog to its quoting systems, Netformx will streamline quote development for enterprise infrastructure projects, speeding resellers’ ability to meet the changing networking needs of their customers with increased accuracy.”
