Netformx, the requirements-to-order solution leader, and independent analyst firm Heavy Reading have released a white paper that explores communications service providers’ (CSPs) need to utilize intelligent service design to efficiently, accurately and profitably sell complex enterprise IP services.
The increasing clamor for advanced IP-based services, combined with their greater complexity and more sophisticated enterprise requirements, is placing new demands on CSPs and their customer-facing organizations. Highly iterative and phased-approach proposals may cater to customers’ needs and provide more options, but they also create the potential for more errors. To produce on-target proposals, sales teams must become more efficient in understanding enterprises’ requirements and developing fully implementable solutions.
The white paper demonstrates that, by automating the requirements-to-order process, CSPs can easily achieve 99 percent accuracy in service design and significantly accelerate the sales cycle. Heavy Reading research also indicates that productivity improvements and cost savings can be dramatic, with reductions in order fall-out rates, truck rolls and service issues potentially saving CSPs more than $18.8 million on every one million MPLS orders, assuming an existing fall-out rate of 40 percent.
