Netformx® and Heavy Reading Explore Fundamental Shift in Solution Management and Fulfillment

White Paper Addresses the Importance of Intelligent Service Design in Driving an Efficient, Accurate and Profitable Sales Process

SAN JOSE-May 16, 2011-Netformx, the requirements-to-order solution leader, and independent analyst firm Heavy Reading today released a white paper that explores the need for communications service providers (CSPs) to utilize intelligent service design to efficiently, accurately and profitably sell complex enterprise IP services.

The increasing clamor for advanced IP-based services, combined with their greater complexity plus more sophisticated enterprise requirements, is placing new demands on CSPs and their customer-facing organizations. Highly iterative and phased-approach proposals may cater to customers' needs and provide more options, but they also create the potential for more errors. To produce on-target proposals, sales teams must become more efficient in understanding enterprise requirements and developing fully implementable solutions.

The white paper demonstrates that, by automating the requirements-to-order process, CSPs can achieve 99 percent accuracy in service design and significantly accelerate the sales cycle. Heavy Reading research also indicates that productivity improvements and cost savings can be dramatic, with reductions in order fall-out rates, truck rolls and service issues potentially saving CSPs more than $18.8 million on every one million MPLS orders.

Supporting Quotes
  • "CSPs have a very real chance of saving huge sums in OPEX, while opening up an opportunity to generate significant incremental revenues from the next generation of enterprise IP services and solutions," said Ari Banerjee, senior analyst, Heavy Reading. "This white paper explores the issues currently facing CSPs in the requirements-to-order process, and offers an approach that aligns service design much more closely with service provisioning than is currently the case."

  • "The growing trend towards CSPs playing a greater role in managing complex IP-based services on behalf of enterprise customers has exposed a disconnect in the way these services are scoped, designed and fulfilled," said Ittai Bareket, CEO, Netformx."With customer requirements becoming increasingly sophisticated, CSPs are finding it challenging to quickly and accurately deliver on them. Netformx is able to bridge this gap between the pre-deployment and fulfillment stages by automating the requirements-to-order process, thereby enabling tighter synergies from end-to-end."
